§ 44-1. Legislative intent.

The purpose of this chapter is to supplement the provisions of state law governing the rights and duties of landlords and tenants of residential property in the County of Santa Barbara and to partially mitigate the financial hardships faced by resident households through payment of relocation benefits. This ordinance is not intended to create a substantive defense to a summary eviction or unlawful detainer proceeding.
