§ 27-14. Additional compensation during emergencies.

  • In the event of an emergency duly declared in writing by the board of supervisors, the administrative officer or assistant administrative officer and emergencies in other jurisdictions in the state approved in writing as an emergency by the administrative officer or assistant administrative officer of the county, full-time employees and officers (except elected officials, appointed department heads and assistant department heads), whose compensation is fixed by this chapter and salary ordinances and resolutions thereunder of the county, shall be paid additional compensation for overtime work in connection with such emergencies, subject to the following express conditions:

    (a)

    The work for which additional compensation is made shall be "overtime" work as the same shall then be established and defined by the board of supervisors of the county.

    (b)

    The rate of compensation and the amount and manner of payment thereof for such emergency overtime work shall be as provided by the board of supervisors through resolution or in any applicable memorandum of understanding.
