§ 23-13.12. Prohibiting parking of "oversized vehicles" on certain streets between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.

  • The board of supervisors of the county of Santa Barbara, in accordance with Section 22507(a) of the Vehicle Code of the State of California, may, by ordinance, adopt rules and regulations to prohibit or restrict the stopping, parking, or standing of vehicles, on certain streets or highways, or portions thereof, during all or certain hours of the day. The board of supervisors of the county of Santa Barbara, in accordance with Section 22651(n) of the Vehicle Code of the State of California, may, by ordinance, authorize a peace officer, as defined in Chapter 4.5 (commencing with Section 830) of Title 3 of Part 2 of the Penal Code, or a regularly employed and salaried employee, who is engaged in directing traffic or enforcing parking laws and regulations of the county, to remove vehicles parked or left standing where the board of supervisors by resolution or ordinance has prohibited parking and after signs giving notice of removal have been posted.

    (a)

    "Oversized vehicle(s)" shall be defined for this section as any motor vehicle, boat or trailer, which meets or exceeds at least one of the following criteria, exclusive of fixtures and accessories:

    1.

    Twenty-four feet in length; or

    2.

    Seven feet in height; or

    3.

    Eight feet in width.

    (b)

    Rules and regulations prohibiting the parking of oversized vehicles between the hours of 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. are hereby established for the following highways:

    OLIVE MILL ROAD, from Spring Road to Hill Road.

    CHANNEL DRIVE, from Olive Mill Road to Fairway Road.

    HILL ROAD, from Butterfly Lane to Olive Mill Road.

    BUTTERFLY LANE, from Channel Drive to Union Pacific Railroad right-of-way.

    CAMINO DEL REMEDIO, from Calle Real to Cathedral Oaks.

    SAN ANTONIO ROAD, from Calle Real to Camino Del Remedio.

    OAK GLEN DRIVE, from its southern intersection with Camino Del Remedio to its northern intersection with Camino Del Remedio.

    CAMINO CORTO, from El Colegio Road to Del Playa Drive.

    CAMINO DEL SUR, from El Colegio Road to Del Playa Drive.

    CAMINO PESCADERO, from El Colegio Road to Del Playa Drive.

    EMBARCADERO DEL MAR, from El Colegio Road to Trigo Road.

    EMBARCADERO DEL NORTE, from El Colegio Road to Trigo Road.

    EL EMBARCADERO ROAD, from Trigo Road to Del Playa Drive.

    FORTUNA LANE, from Fortuna Road to its northern terminus.

    CAMINO LINDO, from Fortuna Road to Del Playa Drive.

    CAMINO MAJORCA, from Pasado Road to Del Playa Drive.

    DEL PLAYA DRIVE, from Camino Majorca to its eastern terminus.

    (c)

    Any violation of the herein stated provisions pertaining to the parking of oversized vehicles shall be subject to penalties of fifty dollars plus administrative fee and/or removal.

    (d)

    The section shall not be enforceable until signs or markings giving adequate notice thereof have been placed.
