§ 18C-11. Powers and duties of the administrative authority.

(A)
The administrative authority may adopt policies and procedures to implement and administer
this article.
(B)
Within the unincorporated area of Santa Barbara County, the administrative authority
is authorized and directed to enforce the provisions of this article. It is authorized
to consult with qualified experts in any matter concerning the construction, operation,
maintenance and repair of onsite wastewater treatment systems to the extent that it
deems it necessary to assist in carrying out its duties under this article. The administrative
authority may request and shall receive the assistance and cooperation of other officials
of the County of Santa Barbara, so far as may be necessary in the discharge of its
duties.
(C)
The administrative authority may approve requests for variances from the provisions
of this article if it is determined that complete compliance with the prescribed standards
is not possible or practical and that the variance is not counter to the purposes
and intent of this article.
