§ 15A-7. Basis for establishing the areas of special flood hazard.
Latest version.
The areas of special flood hazard identified by the Federal Insurance Administration
of the Federal Emergency Management Agency in the Flood Insurance Study dated September
1978 and the Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM), dated March 15, 1979, and all subsequent
amendments and/or revisions, are hereby adopted by reference and declared to be a
part of this chapter. This flood insurance study and attendant mapping is the minimum
area of applicability of this chapter and may be supplemented by studies for other
areas which allow implementation of this chapter and which are recommended to the
board of directors by the floodplain administrator. On June 19, 2018, the board of
supervisors and board of directors considered and approved the recommendation of the
floodplain administrator to supplement the flood insurance study with the FEMA Recovery
Map. The study and flood insurance rate maps are on file with the office of the county
clerk, 105 East Anapamu Street, Room 407, Santa Barbara, California; at the office
of the Santa Barbara County flood control district at 130 E. Victoria Street, Suite

Street, Santa Barbara, California.
